A guest can open the menu from a dine-in QR without installing an app. The kitchen sees the order on a display. Staff close the check with cash or UPI and print a GST bill. This is your restaurant’s own flow — not Swiggy or Zomato.
Walkthrough
Build the menu with modifiers (oil, spice, extras) where you need them. Place tables on the floor plan. Each table can have its own QR token so “Table 4” is not a shared mystery link.
The guest opens the dine-in QR menu in the phone browser — no app store step. They send an order. If you turn on UPI prepay on the customer portal, the kitchen should only start after payment succeeds. Cash-on-order still exists for shops that want the waiter to collect later.
On the web, the kitchen screen can update live (server-sent events). Cooks bump ticket status as they fire and complete. iOS/Android kitchen views refresh by polling — same tickets, less “live wire” than the browser KDS. Kitchen tickets can also print if you use Bluetooth (Android) or PrintNode.
Walk-in and phone orders, open checks and extra rounds, split bills, tabs, tips, and service charge are staff tools. Menu-first ordering can sell even when kitchen stock is zero; optional stock deduction applies only when you keep items on hand.
Close the check with cash, UPI (store Razorpay QR when configured), card recorded, or split payments. Print the GST tax invoice for the guest. Filing GSTR is still your accountant’s job.
Party-hall and table booking links exist for guests who plan ahead. They are not a full hotel PMS and not an aggregator tablet.
Day one
These are the restaurant staff roles in the product today. Give Kitchen to cooks (KDS), Cashier or Host / Server to the floor, Delivery to runners, Accountant to books, Owner / Manager to setup.
